Lies from the Right

Fair is foul, and foul is fair. MacBeth

The Silent Majority has become the Loud Minority. At least I pray they're a minority.

I passionately dislike these people – the Becks, the Limbaughs, the Palins, the McConnells, the Boehners, and all the rest of the liars. They are systematically destroying our country with their lies, fear tactics, racism, nastiness, and hate – lots and lots of cold naked hate. Using chicanery and delusional nonsense, these high priests and priestesses cast spells over their dazed worshipers, bedazzling them and scaring the life out of them all at once.

How can Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, (R-Ky) look at himself in the mirror? The stupidest of the stupid, he's also the consummate liar, a deliberate liar, a well-studied liar. His lies are like a rolodex, flapping over and over as the wheel turns. He blithely claims that the proposed health care bill will cost a trillion dollars. President Obama has said that he will not sign anything over $900 billion but the man from the Bluegrass State just keeps flapping his lies, using voodoo to spread fear among the tribes. Insurance subsidies will be used to pay for abortion services he predicts ad-infinitum. Undocumented immigrants will be able to buy health insurance he warns in dire tones. Lies, lies, lies.

Stoking the flames of anger, fear and hate is Limbaugh, Beck and Company, dunderheads who don't have enough brains to run a bird backwards. They abuse the airwaves by imprudently crying fire in a very crowded theater. They call our president a racist. They call him a socialist. They question the authenticity of his birth certificate. They scare the pants off of senior citizens by claiming that, under health care reform, the government would have them euthanized. Lies, lies, lies.

And there's always the cutesy little ex-guv from Alaska. The one who'd rather climb a tree and tell a lie than sit on the ground and tell the truth. She makes Pinnochio's nose look like a twig. But smart? Man, this hollow headed Barbie look-alike had 'em all a-twittering when she went to China and talked about her favorite subject—Freedom. Since it's more than a four letter word, I doubt if she even knew what she was talking about. Imagine that.

Now that we lost the bid to host the Olympics, the nuts are crawling out of the woodwork. This bodes ill for the future of President Obama, they say, hopping up and down with glee. Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) says, in his usual double-speak non-English, that it would have been nice to have the Olympics but President Obama shouldn't have been involved, he isn't the mayor of Chicago. This small-minded Neanderthal must not remember his geography lessons. Chicago is a part of the U.S.

Limbaugh, Beck & Co. have stirred up hate and racism to such a fever pitch that some idiot felt it his duty to post a Facebook poll asking if participants wanted the president killed. Facebook had taken it down by the time I got there, so I may be off on the exact wording. But my point is, this kind of thing is not funny, it is sick and it is more than a little scary. And whoever posted it should be locked up.

But, despite all of the dedicated lies from politicians who should know better than to act so irresponsibly, and despite all the theatrical grandstanding of worms like Limbaugh and Beck, I haven't given up quite yet. I know deep down that the majority of Americans, regardless of political persuasion, are decent caring citizens who are just as repulsed by all the meanness, hatred, lies and racism as I am. I just wish they'd speak a little louder.

  1. I think you are right, the majority of Americans don't like the dirty tricks and lies from the right and are wiser than in the past. We have to speak louder then the evil ones and stop giving them a voice. They are still a tiny minority even tho they will lie about that too!!

  2. 'But my point is, this kind of thing is not funny, it is sick and it is more than a little scary.'

It's also a Federal offense to advocate killing the president. So whomever put it up was walking a narrow legal line. Secret Service investigations usually arise from such things. That may be why it came down.

  3. The only quibble I would have is that a lot of these people actually believe their own lies most of the time.
I've met this sort of person in non-political contexts too... they feel that if they say a thing enough, then it gains the objective force of fact, and thus the genuine facts - and a lot of reality itself - cease to matter.
    It's a kind of 'faith'.
    And a psychosis.

"It will cost a trillion dollars because I say it does, and because I say it does, and therefore Obama secretly knows it does... yadda yadda yadda".
