Psalm used to advocate assassination of the president

One of Shakespeare's main themes was "what is and what appears to be are two different things." No where is this more evident than on a new slogan on bumper stickers and on the Internet. The creators? The extreme right. The quote? “Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8” But there's more to this than meets the eye. Ron Chusid goes to the heart of this seemingly innocent banner on Liberal Values.

I do not have a single problem with people being conservative. And I don't have a problem with true Christians. But this is sick. It is scary. What is happening in our country to make people so ugly? Well, I'm going to pray, too. I'm going to pray to my God because he is a forgiving, just and loving God. I'm going to pray for all these angry hate-filled people and hope that one day they will learn the true meaning of the teachings of Christ and the Bible.

UPDATE: I should have mentioned that Ron quoted from The Christian Science Monitor.

  2. It just shows you that you can use quotes from the bible to justify anything.

  3. Oh that is so sick! And they call themselves Christians? I wonder what Jesus would say.
