Earlier today I posted an article about an Arizona House committee approving a measure requiring presidential candidates who want to appear on the ballot in Arizona to submit documents proving they meet the requirements to be president.
Running by the seat of his political pants John McCain has just released an ad tying his primary opponent J.D. Hayworth to conspiracy theorists who doubt the president's citizenship.
With Arizona's current sunny outlook, McCain might be in for a rough ride on the range..
J.D. Hayworth makes McCain look like a Moveon.org instigator. That's some choice, but given McCain's screwball performance running for president and Arizona Republicans' past performance, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hayworth get the GOP nomination. I hope Arizona Dems have a strong candidate, because Hayworth knows how to push voters' buttons.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I dislike McCain, I'd prefer to see him win over this nut. I don't think a Dem would have a chance in hell in this state.

What I REALLY like is the fact that JD Hayworth is supposed to be some conservative guiding light and yet in 2003 he voted FOR the largest expansion of government entitlement programs we have seen: The Medicare Prescription Drug Program and McCain voted AGAINST it!

ReplyDeleteIt's not about small government or fiscal responsibility. They established that by staying so quiet when Bush ran up the budget and the deficit. It's about hating fags, forcing women to carry unwanted pregnancies to term, and teaching school kids that the Earth is 6,000 years old.

ReplyDeleteI think they just like to blow wind . . . .

ReplyDeleteApparently, they want power. However, once they get it, they don't know what to do with it.
With all the power GWBush had for 6 years, he didn't tackle the problem of health care reform. Instead, as TAO pointed out, he passed one of the biggest entitlement pieces of legislation in US history.
And what did we hear from the latent tea baggers back then?
*crickets*
That's why all the fuss they're making now that Obama is the POTUS seems to be nothing more than rage over the fact that a Democrat is in the WH, and that he's biracial.
I'm with tnLib! I would rather see Silly John back in the saddle than this Hayworth idiot. I also think that will happen.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right, Shaw, although I don't think being a Democrat has as much to do with it as pure naked racism that has been laying dormant since the 64 civil rights legislation. What started as a trickle has turned into a volcano.
ReplyDeleteMike: I never thought I'd root for McCain but I am in this case.

ReplyDeleteThe Negative--you'd have to be out of your flippin' mind to live in a place where people would actually vote for J.D. Hayworth.
He really is a nut case but AZ, as much as I love it, has more than their fair share of eccentrics.
