Okay Democrats, Here's Your Chance

While we democrats sit around moaning and groaning, here's an opportunity to do something positive. Maybe it might seem insignificant to some of you, but remember that every vote counts. I've alway had this theory that if a person doesn't vote, that person doesn't have a right to complain.

This link was emailed to me by Democracy for America.

****************************************************************************

Yesterday, Senator Michael Bennet started gathering co-sponsors to his letter calling on Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass a public option using "reconciliation" -- which would mean Republicans couldn't use a procedural trick called the filibuster to block a majority vote.

Thanks to calls from members of DFA, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and CREDO Action, in less than 24 hours, 10 Senators have stood up and added their names to co-sponsor the Senate letter.

Now, it's your turn. Please join 10 Senators and 119 House Democrats by becoming a citizen co-sponsor of Senator Bennet's Public Option letter.

SEND DEMOCRATS IN WASHINGTON A MESSAGE -- BECOME A CITIZEN CO-SPONSOR

  2. If they really want to go the reconciliation route, then they should pass MEDICARE FOR ALL. Don't fart around with this other crap. Just extend Medicare from life to death. Premiums from birth to 65 based on cost. It is the cheapest and most comprehensive way to go, and everything is already in place.

Anything less is a cop out.

  3. JC: You may be right, but if we can get the public option back, at least that's a good beginning. Maybe over the next three years these others things can be added? Fat chance, I'm sure,

  6. Thank Leslie for posting this.. I haven't checked my email or else I didn't get this one yet... I gladly signed it and will also send an email to Sen. McCaskil and let her know how I feel about it.. She has stated before she supports the PO so let her put her money where her mouth is now.

That's what we all need to do too.. Send emails to every Senator even if they are a Rethug and let them know how we feel about this.

  10. Gladly signed and will publish something on it at Oh!pinion. The more who see and sign it, the better. Some less enthusiastic Democrats need to see this thing has legs, as they say.
