Man arrested for threatening Cantor's life via YouTube video

From TPM:

A 33-year-old Philadelphia man was charged today with threatening to kill Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) in a profanity-strewn Youtube video that has since been pulled down.

In the video, Norman Leboon says Cantor will "receive my bullets in your office, remember they will be placed in your heads. You and your children are Lucifer's abominations."

It would be easy to say "you asked for it," Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), but I refuse to become a member of the goon squad. Threats and violence are wrong, period.

The GOP will most likely blame it on the Democrats and the passage of Health Care. The Democrats will blame it on the hate from the past year that has been building to a crescendo by the Tea Party and the Republicans.

All that this little insignificant citizen thinks is that violence breeds violence and if the country doesn't step back, take a deep breath and do some serious soul searching, we are going to have a real tragedy on our hands.

UPDATE: According to the federal complaint against him, Norman Leboon of Philadelphia has admitted making some 2,000 videos that contained threats. A sampling of his "work" reveals rambling incoherent videos that mix pseudo-religious incantations with random warnings and threats. In one video he addresses President Obama, Vice President Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid by name and says, "Your punishment is coming, the swine, it will be severe, and you will beg for mercy to your god, it will be severe, you will know god's swine, god has warned you.

  1. Violence does indeed breed violence. Quite frankly if they hadn't arrested someone I would have accused the Right of manufacturing the whole thing.

  2. Mike - Those are/were my exact thoughts. It's still early but this guy does seem to be a kook more than anything else.

  5. All these "isolated" incidents are sure piling up aren't they? I am guessing this guy could use some mental health help, along with some others but that probably won't be coming any time soon.

  6. Can’t add much to the comments. This person is mentally ill, a hasty diagnosis made on the basis of his ramblings. I am reminded of that chilling video by the Virginia Tech killer. Thank God they got this guy before the bullets found their mark.
