Washington shenanigans and dirty tricks

Intrigue and deceit in Washington. Oh no! There's no way I could summarize this bizarre tale, but you'll be damn glad you linked.

From TPM:

Christina Bellantoni has the tick tock on how an obscurely sourced (at best) memo purporting to detail Democrats' messaging plan on health care reform traveled in just a few hours this afternoon from a Republican lobbyist to political reporters to Hill aides and onto high-profile news websites before Democrats beat the story back with cries that the memo was a "hoax."

Rep. AnthonyWeiner tears apart Rep. Scott Garrett for reading fake memo on House floor.

Tip of the hat to Oliver Willis.

  1. Meanwhile, the idiots on the right leave their "game plans" lying around on hotel endtables... LOL!

  3. I can't help but smile at the similarity to some of the crap my group pulled over the years TnLib. I'm sure the right winger that thought up this obvious phony scam feels as bad as I do about some of my dirty tricks.

  4. The Rushpubliscums don't CARE if it's a lie. That's what I don't think most people understand. You can tell lies all day, as long as they are lies that the "base" wants to believe.

  5. This is true, but it's still fun to catch them red handed for all the world to see. And to see Politico get slapped. Can't wait for Steele's spiel.

  6. I'm watching this report now on CNN. JR is right, the GOP cares not one bit about their horrifically stupid lies. That's how much credit they give their base in their ability to differentiate between truth and lies. In other words, they really don't give a fuck about anybody, not even their "people".

  7. Anthony Weiner is a little bit special, I'll remember him calling out the lie, the mob will embrace the lie because it fits in with their paranoia.

  8. The nickname I give to the Republican representatives is "Clowns" and it really fits in this case. Good for Anthony Weiner. I love it.

  9. Lies emanate from the top and filter down to the lowest levels. Look at some of the right wing comments left on our blogs. Some piss me off and some simply make me laugh out loud.

  10. The buzz I'm hearing now is that the bogus memo originated in Limpy Boehner's office.
