I honored Pete right after his 90th birthday with this very song. I think he was one of the first in this series and I had not quite figured out what to call it.
re: "There used to be a draft." If there was one thing the Masters of War learned from Nam. It was never ever to bring back the draft. Instead they out sourced even the most menial jobs to private contractors. Filling the pockets of the elite. Today's military is not the best of the best. It is not even a volunteer military. Our military has become a jobs center for the unemployed youth.
The endless wars with out borders will continue.
ReplyDeleteMay all the psychopaths, puppets, and masters of war spend eternity in their own hell.
While they stay safe and send all the young men and women off to die.

ReplyDeleteNice one. I saw Donovan about 25 years ago, in the mid-80s. Just a consummate pro.
ReplyDeleteBless our soldiers for they know not what (who) they are really fighting for. Fuck war, fuck it all to hell...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Donovan. Hadn't heard that in years. Here's some Pete for Memorial Day, Bring 'em Home!
ReplyDeleteBRING EM HOME ! ! ! ! !

If our soldiers don't know what they fight for Sue, then they shouldn't have volunteered. I say God bless the resistance to them.
ReplyDeleteOso, I don't disagree with you, but there used to be a draft -
