Since then he has signed on to repeal the Health Care Bill - to appease the Right Wing and despite the fact that polls show the bill is increasing in popularity. Not content to duck out of the spotlight before falling flat on his face,
Boehner faced a public-relations assault yesterday from Democrats after he said that the financial-reform bill pending completion in Congress amounts to "killing an ant with a nuclear weapon."
My last comment in the aforementioned article about Boehner and Social Security reads:
While out walking my dog, I was thinking of Boehner and kind of giggling to myself. I wonder who it was that got the tanning booth tax tacked on to the HC bill. How many Dems were in on it? How many Republicans really hadn't read the bill?
I make no claims to being clairvoyant but oh God, does this feel good.
According to the Daily Kos, "Boehner has hijacked the House Republican caucus behind his own cause: fighting the 'tan tax.' Seriously, here's what's on the Republican House Ways and Means site:"
Unfortunately, no amount of sunscreen or Aloe will relieve the pain of the Democrats’ impending 10 percent tax on indoor tanning beds, which goes into effect tomorrow, July 1. This $2.7 billion tax will hit tens of thousands of small businesses and consumers and is just one of the many of the $569,000,000,000 in new health care taxes that violate the President’s promise not to raise taxes on middle-class families.
Even the righties are getting tired of this clown. Too bad. I'm just starting to likehim for all the wonderful things he's been doing to insure the Democrats success this November.
ReplyDeleteObama is starting to ramp up some rhetoric that will rally the troops. The ten percent of Hispanics who didn't vote for Obama will come to their senses. Elections are about the future of our Nation. Not continuing worthless sanctions against Cuba.
I'm excited.
"no amount of . . . Aloe will relieve the pain"
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S funny
I find it amazing that "The Boner" is the best that the republicans can come up with as a leader in the House. It just shows how far the republicans have fallen.
ReplyDeleteHA! HA! HA! HA!
I've never been to a tanning salon. I've only known one person in 40 years of life who had been to one. Maybe she was the only one who would admit it...
ReplyDeleteDamn. I just totally aged myself, didn't I?
ReplyDeleteTruth: I'm excited as well. It just keeps getting better and better with this guy.
ReplyDeletePEN: You do have to wonder how he came up with that one. Maybe over-exposing his posterior to the machine?
JC: Frankly I hope he stays just where he is. If Reid gets knocked out (doubtful), and JB moves up, there's Cantor - not so stupid maybe but very cunning.
Bee: You're still wet behind the ears as far as I'm concerned. I've never been to one either not only because of the proven health hazards but they just seem to attract the narcissist amongst us.
Bee hehehehe
ReplyDeleteI didn't say a word..hehehe
The Boner, just wait...mark it down..Tim said:
This guy will have a break down that will be legendary. He'll do it in chamber in front of all.
Even Scarborough is on his case for his drinking.
Bee don't worry, I remember radio days.
Tim: Like Fibber McGee (sp) and Molly?
ReplyDeleteHAVE I NOT BEEN TELLING YOU FOR YEARS that Boehner never draws a sober breath? His drunk ass only got the job he now has because he is in bed with so many different lobbyists (and sources of funding.)
ReplyDeleteScarborough finally said in public what everyone but the MSM has known for a long time now. "Junket John" Boehner is a corrupt drunk who can't find his own ass without a lobbyist pointing it out for him. His color, BTW, isn't just from a tanning bed. No, it surely isn't...
You know if Boehner was a character in some political television drama his lines would be cut from the script for being nonsensical. He is proof that reality is far stranger than fiction.
ReplyDeleteOff topic: Congrats, Leslie, on your Bigmouth Award at PP. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'll be back.
I have this in a draft but always look through my bloglist to see if anyone else posted the same thing before I post it. Great minds! The tan tax is a wee little 2.00 at most and the rethugs are just furious, even have the Heritage Foundation commenting! It's hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteHis opponents - or the voters - have had to be pretty incompetent for John the Boozer to win by over 60 percent each time. He was first elected in 1990 - a pretty fast rise to power within the House.
ReplyDeleteDepending on the subject I'll check if anything has been written even before I write. Sometimes I'll drop it but we all have a different take on things.
An ant that ate ten million jobs. That's gotta be one hell of an ant -- worthy of a 1950s science-fiction movie. It probably does need a nuclear weapon.
ReplyDeleteThat orange stuff must be seeping into his brain.
I thought Boehner's comments were ridiculous and Craig, an author for my site, made an interesting observation - Boehnr said the following:
ReplyDelete"If you have substantial non-Social Security income while you're retired, why are we paying you at a time when we're broke? We just need to be honest with people."
Craig pointed out that the money in Social Security is the money we put in. It is deducted from out paychecks. Boehner makes it sound as if it is a gift from Uncle Sam.
Playing the GOP games, I have dubbed this attack on Social Security the "Senior Tax." I messaged my representative (Alan Grayson) in hopes he calls this clown out...
Boehner would do himself and the whole world a huge favor by cutting back on his excessive tanning, drinking, golfing, partying, lying, and politicking. That man is DEFINITELY not earning his paycheck!
ReplyDeleteInfidel: He was probably seeing ants in his alcoholic induced hallucinations.
ReplyDeleteKevin: The passage Craig quoted wasn't in my source but I saw it a bit later. I think the only people who forget that we contribute to our SS are Boehner and Associates.
Jack: So true - you'd think the people in Ohio would see that.
Stephen Colbert railed against Joe Scarborough for being biased against yellow people. Hah!
ReplyDeleteFrankly, there should be a 100% pollution surtax on any tanning bed that Bad-Tan-Limpy is using.
ReplyDeleteWell ... it's a pretty good piece Ms.Leslie, sadly all of this is a political game, playing the people one more time. I was figuring on one day drawing social security actually .... well I've paid into it 30 year's and get them yearly statement's and such, but I reckon it's some age in the 60's to draw it, I am 54 now. Actually I never received anything from the government in my life come to think of it, except room and board during my incarceration's, borrowing book's and dvd's from the library or such, other than that ... well ... nothing ever, but never tried to apply for anything either in my life, but just figured I would one day when I get older I reckon, apply for SS. I know neighbor's and other's who get SS, just because of disabilities, their not old. I know one gal just turned 40, single, recently released from prison on drug transport conviction, who get's about $600 a month, food stamp's, and subsidized rent even (dirt cheap rent)because the state prison system declared her an addict (former addict) and now bi-polar .... she doesnt do nothing but collect it I reckon, but has to report all the time to agencies, parole and stuff. I'm just rattling off at the mouth, cause this just made me think of it. Just made some spaghetti and meatball's too, for me and my daughter.
ReplyDeleteBut Boehner is nothing but a hustler actually.
Have a good 4th Weekend Grrrllll....
I am against any change in the eligibility dates. Any. However, as Social Security right now wastes a huge amount of money in payments for the rich, it is an unnecessary 'welfare for the wealthy' program. It should be changed to be means tested, so no money is paid out to the well off.
ReplyDeleteTomCat: Isn't he orange?
dmarks: Rich folk's draw social security?? Actually I never heard that one before. But never even thought of it either I reckon. I mean, why in Hell would you need it if your financially stable/ set?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that bastard I was married to was rich - I'd be on the street otherwise.
ReplyDeleteAll the other problems in the country and Oompa Loompa and his band of idiot followers want to repeal a tanning tax. I have a monthly card for Mystic tan I use in winter to keep my summer tan going and it won't be that much of a raise in the amount. I think he is doing tan in the can, to cover up the yellowing of his skin from smoking and drinking.
ReplyDeleteJess: I think you're right. I just have a hard time with anyone being so vain - male or female.
