Tea Party/G.O.P. Thuggery

There are no words in the entire English language which can adequately express my anger at the Party of Goons. According to TPM, at the Rand Paul-Jack Conway debate in Lexington, Kentucky Monday night:
. . . a group of Paul supporters pulled a female MoveOn member to the ground and held her there as another Paul supporter stomped on the back of her head and neck.

According to the Louisville Courier Journal, "Lauren Valle of MoveOn.org approached Paul and tried to give him an "employee of the month award" from Republicorp...a fake business MoveOn created to symbolize what it says is the merger of the GOP and business interests controlling political speech."
TPM further reports:

In a separate incident, according to the Kentucky Post, "a Conway supporter stepped on the foot of a female Rand supporter, who recently had foot surgery. The woman was wearing a surgical boot, but after the injury, her incision was cut open. Police say she refused medical treatment and also filed an assault report."
Trying to be objective here, I guess I think if my incision was cut open, I'd be on my way to the hospital before filing a report.

No arrests or apologies have been made. We're seeing more and more verbal and physical abuse from the right. It's easy to compare this to the earlier isolated incidents that began in 1930s Germany and which ended in the murder of millions of Jews, political prisoners, gays, gypsies, the physically and mentally challenged, and those who were "just different."

TPM has a video HERE and I'm including this one from YouTube.

TPM UPDATE:
Lexington PD on the status of the stomping investigation ...

"I think we're probably going to come up with something later today," Roberts said, adding that tips have been coming in literally from around the country about who the suspects in the attack might be. "Because it was captured on video, we have a good idea what happened [and] at this point there doesn't seem to be anything to justify how this incident unfolded.
Well, I'm just a dumb Tennessean, but I wonder why nobody was arrested on the spot. I know the candidates didn't see it, but where were the police? Uh, uh, uh . . .

  1. my stomach is in knots and I think I could throw up.... these are the types of people we will have in power soon. God Help America....

I'm putting this video on my header with no comments section...

  2. I posted the video on my blog, too!!!! I am so very sick of the credibility given to the comedy bloc of the GOP. If you liked Tricky Dick Nixon, you gotta love that nasty woman from up North.

  3. Thanks, Ladies. Go for it. The more these kinds of atrocities are spread around, the better.

  4. They alredy got the guy, and he is saying she was tormenting them and the camera angle shows it differently and oh yeah, they told the police she was harrassing them. So you see, they had to stomp on her head because the police did not do anything. Oh and to make this even a better story, Profitt is the guys name, he was a campaign coordinator for Rand Paul, who up until a couple hours ago had no idea who he was. Yeah right and later today pigs will be flying out of my butt.

  5. Oh Rand Paul saw this because she was trying to hand him one of those Moveon, org repulicorp awards. He was less than 10 feet from her and these guys were his welcoming party to the event, he knew what was happening no doubt about it IMO.

  6. I just read they have issued an arrest warrant for Profitt and now are looking to find out the name of the 2nd man involved. Charges are pending against him too.

This is just disturbing to say the least and as Sue said makes me sick. After Joe Miller in AK and now this.. what have we come to? Notice it is all on the right side...yet somehow it became "both sides" when Paul talked about it on Faux Noise this morning.

Both sides my ass.. I have seen nor heard of any violence on the left.. and believe me if it had happened that would be the only thing on 24/7.

  7. Jess: Thanks for the update. Have been diverted here.

Annette: The gal is going to be on Olbermann's tonight. I'm sure most any other interviewer would have asked Pretty Boy Paul to name incidences when anyone on the left acted like a goon within the last two years.

  8. If you look real close, you will see a policeman in uniform standing there, with his hands at his waist. Frodo would have gone to jail tonight, for punching a cop. Being smallest and weakest can sometimes get you in big trouble, even if the bastard deserved it.

  9. Frodo: I do see him - right after Paul passes at about 32 seconds. There's a possibility that he turned to follow Paul, but who knows. I did see the arm of the guy off screen on the right when he said, "no, no, no - don't . . ."

I'm really having problems with the way GOP abuse is escalating. Remind me, if I ever attend a GOP event, to wear my steel-toed shit-kickers.

  10. tnlib, this article will not assuage those angry feelings. If anything, this article might make you more angry, but it is an important read with respect to outlining the moral dimensions of what we are up against.

  11. There is no morality anymore - or love or compassion or sense of decency. We are becoming an anarchy.

  12. Today the head stomper is asking for an apology from the woman he stepped on her head. Like Darth Cheney's gunshot victim saying sorry to Cheney for getting his face in the way of the bullets. There are no words.

  13. "he is saying she was tormenting them"

This is what abusers say: You made me beat you to a pulp.

  14. Thanks for the update, Jess. As K says, "This is what abusers say . . ." Boy, am I familiar with that one.

  15. But Rush Limbaugh said it was her SHOULDERS that were stomped on, not her head!

Please see video .....who are you going to believe? Limburger or your lyin' eyes?

  16. What is to become of this country when half its citizens hates the other half? Something to ponder.

Frodo will recall when we got attacked – with vulgar personal attacks – every night on the moveon.org forum. Bill O’Reilly was telling his minions to come there and attack us and proclaiming on his show that “moveon.org is the most dangerous organization in America” when he wasn’t saying the same thing about the ACLU. This thuggery has been going on for years!

Leslie, thanks for the link in your previous post to Judy T’s wonderful story. I left her a comment.

  17. Hugh: Too simple?

BJ: Name calling is one thing, although not a good one, but physical attacks are quite another.

Yes, Judy's post is absolutely delightful and Tom T. left an interesting comment on the the conclusion of the bipolar series.

  18. "There is no morality anymore - or love or compassion or sense of decency. We are becoming an anarchy."

Time for a perspective check. What we're seeing is the same small percentage of playground bullies, sneaks, spiteful types and hell raisers we all went through school with. People who get along and conduct themselves decently don't show up in videos on TV and the Net, and grab newspaper headlines.

But they're out there, and you can tell in part by the outrage this incident has generated — from people who know right from wrong, and want something better from our political system than ugliness and outright violence.

Take heart; this too shall pass.

  19. SW: Those are encouraging words and I think all of us need that right now. It's kind of like bipolar. One moment I'm up and the next one I'm down. Between the media, the polls, the insanity and all the big money being pumped into the GOP, it gets pretty discouraging. But I do thank you for this and will sleep on it after I crawl into bed.

  20. I too wonder why the assailants weren't arrested immediately. I hope the assailants are held accountable for their disgusting actions, and that more details become available soon.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ok, so I'm a tough-skinned bitch and can watch violence and not be too affected by it, but this one was pretty barbaric. I'm just now watching the video, and yeah, someone needed to be pulled off and taken to jail. Actually, from that video, at least 2, possibly 3 or 4 needed to go to jail, and the ones standing on the sidelines watching needed their asses kicked for ineptitude.

  22. Bee: There have been several arrests and more are pending. For that sub-human who did the stomping to blame the victim is so typical.
