I agree, we are a fickle bunch! I'd like to turn off the computer and the TV for 6 months then come back and see all that happened! Could be interesting, plus those who don't follow politics say "don't bother, just live your life, whatever will be will be". Maybe they have a point??
Nah - you're a political animal just like I am. I don't agree with those people. That kind of thinking is what allows dictators to take over. Besides, what the hell would we have to talk about? Palin's latest outfit?
I don't think people are disappointed because he hasn't done everything they want. They're disappointed because of the things he has done that they didn't want, from Rick Warren at the inaugural to the endless kowtowing to bipartisanship to the Afghanistan surge. I disagree about Afghanistan, but it isn't an issue of people "wanting everything yesterday".

you have it exactly right Infidel. I didn't want a center right democrat president, I wanted a progressive president. I think if you compare the way Bush was with his party, thats what I want Obama to be with us except of course with his brains attached.
RZ: I don't disagree with most of what you're saying, but I've heard too many people - in private conversations, on the TV, in the print media and on the Net - complain that he hasn't accomplished this or that as promised in his campaign speeches.
The choice of Warren wasn't too bright. He's a despicable man but it wasn't the end of the world. Look how many presidents have had Bill Graham and there are things about him I find just as offensive.
I'm not thrilled about Afghanistan for several reasons, the foremost being that I don't trust military intelligence. I hate to be a fence rider but while I read all arguments pro and con, I can see the reasoning behind both. I feel like I'm watching a tennis match. The things is, once you start down this path it's hard as hell to change directions.
The kowtowing (thanks for correct spelling) probably bothers me more than anything. He tried it, it didn't work, so move on. I did read something yesterday (don't know all details) where he told a GOP group to quit spreading fear. A small step but maybe a beginning.
I just get up everyday and thank the good Lord that McCain isn't our president.
Obama does try to be all things to all people. This in my kind and gentle opinion has been used by the republicans to obstruct and cause general mahem. He does need to remember that the republicans are not his friends and never will be. Bipartisanship doesn't win elections and for the most part the only things it gets done are meaningless.
