Animal abuse: woman sets dogs on fire
In case readers haven't figured it out by now, I become outraged when I stumble across incidents of animal abuse. Before anyone asks, "what about child abuse?" My answer is, "what about spouse abuse?" or just "what about abuse?"
Abuse is an epidemic that reaches across all segments of society. It is a reflection of man's inhumanity to man, woman, child and animal. It is, of course, barbaric and indefensible.
By passing on these stories of unmitigated cruelty are we at risk of becoming immune to the plight of the victims? Do we finally reach a point that we become numb to their pain and suffering? I hope not. I hope that there will come a time when public outrage will demand harsher penalties for perpetrators of such savage acts.
And mental health counseling? By all means, especially for children who abuse animals. Maybe they are young enough that they can be reached before they become adults and abuse their spouses. By then, it's virtually too late. Even with counseling, the recidivism rate for spouse abusers is over 85 percent.
Obviously the woman in this video needs help in a big way.
