Church Carnival Game: Throw Darts at the President

Carnival company owner says Obama game is not meant to be "political." Maybe not but it sure has a racist taint to it. I'd be willing to bet that this company has never used another president as a target.

  2. Greeting's Ms.Leslie!

A "church fair"?? .... rather odd, isnt that? I am all for humor myself, I dont know if racism was involved, but think's it's safe to say it was very directed at the President, and I dont know if it was meant in humor, it just seem's too politically inspired with the thing's like a health bill or such. I just dont understand why a church fair would promote something like this? But ... interesting video piece indeed, because I never seen this.

    Thank You .........

  3. Churches aren't immune from hate, RC. In fact many of them promote it.

  4. I woke up this morning pondering this question:
How can we accept reality without giving in to despair?
After watching this clip, it looks like I'll be pondering for months and months.

    sheesh

  5. What a lousy Artist rendering of his likeness.
Good grief, what happened to his ears. Where's his lapel pin. Bad Art. I'd be embarrassed having to have done that work.
That being said, there's no accounting for taste.
Whoever though that up should pause the very next thought they have, and just let it go.....

  6. PEN: Thre is one good side to this. There were a couple of people who denounced it. I'm sure there were many others who simply weren't interviewed.

TIM: If you recall, Hitler was an amateur artist.

  7. While I agree that it's not a good idea, I think it's unfair to assume it was a church that came up with the idea. The guy that runs the carnival said they've been running the game since April, and surely it hasn't been at the church that long. I'm guessing that the church decided to use that company and the company brought the games. It's gotten the press it has because it was at the church, otherwise, why didn't it get brought up 3-4 months ago???

  8. Racist or not, using the image of the presidency, even if it was not aimed at Obama directly (of course he is the only black president we have had), is very inappropriate. Bad judgment??? Extremely stupid judgment I would say! The guy's an idiot and probably did it only for the money.

  9. WAstate: First, thanks for stopping by.

Sctually there have been several such incidents. You can search bot Youtube and Goodgle "obama fair target" and you will come up with quite a few.

JC: I would think a church or school would have to approve all games at this kind of function. As far as I'm concerned these institutions of learning and worship are just as complicit.

  11. It probably wasn't a church that came up with the idea, but church carnivals is the company's business. Therefore this has been at multiple churches since April, apparently without objection. The owner's claim that it wasn't supposed to represent Obama is bull crap. Who else would a black guy holding a health insurance bill be?

  13. Update: The discussion of this on Fox and Friends has ther righties clamoring for the real thing, not just a game. One of their Second Amendment solutions.
