  1. I remember that day in 1965. I told high school friends that we'd be fortunate to be out of there in ten years. :-(

  2. But before the peace talks could even begin, the negotiators spent months arguing over what shape the table should be! I wonder how many lives were sacrificed for that.

  3. I recall the reply from the Vietnamese leader at the Paris Talks (after they agreed upon a table) to the American who told him "You know, you never defeated us in battle".

"That may be true. It is also irrelevant".

  4. That's a good one. I wonder if the American leader was Henry Kissenger.

  5. Leslie,
You'd got me wondering so I had to check-the Vietnamese guy was a Colonel Tu. The American was Harry Belafonte. No just kidding, it was also a Colonel, Harry Summers who headed the US delegation.

  6. Damn you, Oso. I had to take my glasses off and stick my nose in the screen. My jaw literally dropped. No, he was in Selma. You are a nut.

    And while I have your attention . . .

You are bright and you write well. I really wish you'd do a drum roll and bring out your blog. It's a talent going to waste. Besides, I have an idea, so email me.
