Health care opponents show their true colors

And they're not red, white and blue. They're simply ugly as mud. They were tossing a bunch of it at a protest rally today outside Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy's (D) offfice.

In the following video, "an elderly man holding a sign that reads “Got Parkinson’s? I DO and YOU might. Thanks for Helping. That’s [illegible]” is shouted at, mocked, and ridiculed as the anti-healthcare protesters standing over him dismissively throw money at his face."

The full video is at The Columbus Dispatch. It's nothing less than sickening and disgraceful. And it should make you damn mad.

For many Americans, what happened in Columbus is what the healthcare issue is all about and the disdainful way in which the anti-healthcare protesters fling a few bills at the subject of their derision is a perfect illustration of everything that is wrong with the small-government narrative.

If this is what Conservative opposition to healthcare reform looks like, the Democrats have already won.

Mud belongs at the bottom of the pond. That guy throwing the $$$ should be in a psyche ward along with the rest of them. They are obviously mentally disturbed.

Kilroy, who was diagnosed in 2003 with multiple sclerosis, is as yet undecided.

  1. I can't seem to get to the video. Something about being private. No matter. I disagree with the mentally ill assessment. They aren't mentally ill, they are mean spirited, evil, and self-centered. Not to mention lemmings being led about by the insurance/pharmaceutical corporations of America. Disgusting.

  2. This infuriates me! Some will say(lisa) this is a minority who act with such stupidity and hate for their fellow Americans, but I don't buy it. These conservatives are so riled up, so full of rage that the bill is going to pass, they can't control themselves. I just pray they do get control because it's very scary what they are capable of doing!

  3. Try Sue's blog. Her video I think is from another source. This one has just been zapped at UTube. Sorry. I agree with what youy say but I think people who have no anger mangement sills, etc., do have a mental health problem. These folks are completely out of control - and not for the first time. Go to Sue's and watch her video.

Sue - you're absolutely right. One of those nut jobs who show up with guns is about to cross the line.

  5. This is absolutely disgusting. I've noticed that many people will let up a bit on their ideological beliefs when they're presented with someone like this, putting a human face on an issue as it were, but to see them getting even madder and more charged up at the prospect of yelling at an old man with a disability sickens me.

I'm adding this to a post I'm putting up tomorrow about health care and you're getting the hat tip, Leslie. Keep up the good work exposing these "people".

  6. This is what we are up against, rage. How to deal with angry people who want their own way on everything is becoming sickening.

  7. The guy throwing the money, and being cheered on, probably thinks he is a hero. It reminds me so much of the civil rights era when these punks would do this very kind of thing or worse. I'm afraid we're heading for the "or worse."

I don't know if our little blogs have any impact but I think we have to keep at it and fight this kind of thing with everything we have.

As many of you know, JBW is my mentor. If it hadn't been for him I wouldn't be here. I don't know if you should thank him or troll his blog! ; ) It took the patience of a saint to teach this idiot how to install videos. So, despite this brute throwing the money, know that there are still some very good people out there.

  8. Unfortunately the cure for tea bagging is a really catastrophic illness in the family; it turns them around quickly. Most of the people who oppose health insurance reform, in my experience, have never had to use their insurance. They have lead charmed lives up to this point, and the people in this video are really doing some karmic damage to themselves.

  9. Sharon: Tunnel vision is not healthy but these folks are too stupid to know it.

Thanks for stopping by. Get your blog going, so we can have more people who think like you.

  10. The tea baggers are enabled by the media and the pols. What they do is supported by the publicity, and they are not intimidated by the shame, because no one talks about that...
