Fred Phelps Organizes Anti-Obama Protest Outside Sasha and Malia's School

Think Progress reports that hate monger Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church members - all dedicated soldiers of Christ - are organizing messages of hate rallies in front of several Washington D.C. schools. This morning they showed up outside the school that Sasha and Malia attend

Washington Post education reporter Michael Birnbaum said that he spent the morning at the protest, and MSNBC host David Shuster wrote, “Hopefully, some of the more rational conservatives/republicans will condemn this stuff today. It was beyond the pale.” ThinkProgress contacted Sidwell for more details on the protest and are awaiting a response.

I'm not sure there are any "rational conservatives/Republicans" left. They've either been chased off or they've simply turned into mealy-mouthed cowards.

In case you're not familiar with Phelps’ and his goose-stepping hate mongers, they make a mockery out of Chrisitianity - and any other religion for that matter.

They go around the country staging anti-gay rallies at some of the most inappropriate places (e.g., the funerals of former White House press secretary Tony Snow, victims of the Minneapolis bridge collapse, and U.S. troops) with messages like "Thank God for AIDS" and "God Hates Fags."

And so, you ask, why are all "Christian" denominations - especially the Baptists - losing members at an alarming rate?

  1. wow how disgraceful!! Yes the sane repubs have virtually disappeared and in their place out pops people like Bachmann, Boehner, Cantor, Palin, Foxx... I could go on forever but these are some who make me puke!! They don't even realize their party is disappearing, or they just don't care!

  2. People who don't know their history or their Constitution are notoriously short-sighted. Certainly they don't understand cause and effect.

  3. These idiots don't know or care what the Constitution says so they frame their silly arguments as "what the Founding Fathers intended."

  4. As I recall, the Westboro Baptist Church believe that Nazi Germany was controlled by gays and Jews.

... I'm kind of at a loss at what to say next...
